The Assistant Professor will play an active role in designing and delivering modules across Finance and Accounting programmes, supporting student learning, and contributing to the academic life of the department. The appointee will also be encouraged to engage in research and scholarly activities aligned with the University's academic goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, deliver, and manage courses in Accountancy and Finance at postgraduate and undergraduate levels, ensuring relevance to academic standards, industry practices, and economic trends, and curriculum innovation.
  • Prepare course materials, including lesson plans, assessments, and evaluation reports, aligned with university quality standards.
  • Integrate research-informed and industry-aligned practices into teaching, learning, assessment, and feedback.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and applied research projects in accountancy and economics.
  • Conduct original research leading to publications in high-quality academic journals; pursue opportunities for externally funded research.
  • Contribute to academic administration, including moderation of assessments, programme review, and compliance with quality assurance protocols.
  • Support a positive student experience through mentoring, academic advising, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Support accreditation and quality assurance activities contributing to continuous programme Improvement.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and collaborative academic initiatives.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching, research, and academic leadership capabilities.
  • Adhere to all University policies and procedures, completing all obligatory training and induction modules, including Equality & Diversity and Health & Safety.
