About this opportunity

The American University in Cairo (AUC) invites applications for a Finance Professor position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. This is an exciting opportunity to teach, conduct impactful research, and help shape the future of finance education at one of the world's leading triple-crown accredited business schools. The appointment begins in Fall 2027 and is for a four-year fixed-term position. AUC is one of the leading English-language universities in the Middle East and Africa, with a beautiful campus in New Cairo, and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses and supervise graduate research in the Master of Science in Finance program. Expertise in areas such as Corporate Finance, Financial Economics, Business Finance, Banking, FinTech, Algorithmic Trading, Portfolio Management, Retail Banking, and Emerging Financial Markets is welcomed. Faculty members are also expected to teach introductory finance courses when needed. Key responsibilities include teaching, developing course materials, integrating new technologies, supervising research, mentoring students, building an international research program, publishing in leading journals, presenting at conferences, securing funding, collaborating with scholars and industry partners, and participating in service and leadership activities. Research focusing on emerging markets, especially the Middle East and Africa, is highly encouraged. Required qualifications include a PhD in Finance, Economics, or a related business discipline from a reputable university, an excellent research record with publications in leading journals, and a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service.
