Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China) is an integral part of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) and delivers world-class business programmes across undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, postdoctoral and executive levels. This role involves taking the lead on research and teaching, acting as principal investigator on major research projects, establishing national reputation, attracting talent schemes and funding, delivering teaching, and curriculum leadership. Candidates must have a PhD in Marketing, Information Systems, or related emerging fields, with proven ability in research and teaching, and a passion for working in a multicultural environment. Experience in mentoring junior researchers and research funding is advantageous.
Key responsibilities
- To take the lead on, plan, develop and conduct individual and/or collaborative research and/or teaching activities, and to contribute to the strategic development of the School and the University.
- To act as the principal investigator on major research projects within the relevant field; to investigate and devise new research methods, generate new research ideas and contribute significantly to the development of thought and practice in the relevant field.
- To establish a national reputation and regularly disseminate and exploit research findings through leading peer-reviewed national publications (on a sustained and/or other appropriate media.
- Actively pursue recognition through appropriate talent schemes and funding opportunities nationally and internationally, to elevate personal and institutional academic standing.
- To deliver teaching across a range of modules or within a subject area, and to provide curriculum leadership within own area of expertise.
- Be responsible for the design of course modules and/or programmes in own specialist area and for their quality. Where appropriate identify the need for development or structure of existing modules and make proposals on how this should be achieved.
- To supervise and examine Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD students.
